Intimate Infinity in October

And now it’s done.

I’ve learned so much making Intimate Infinity/Intimität der Unendlichkeit: my first English/German book, my first book uniting photographs with words by others, my first book printed in Germany. In my very last blog post on Berlin Reified, I quoted Sebastian Knight: “No – I’m not dead. I have finished building a world, and this is my Sabbath rest.”

Photography was my sole access to poetry for many years. These are the images I spoke when I didn’t trust words to show how I felt. I tried making this book a decade ago, printed out hundreds of photographs, lost my nerve. I’m glad. Time has worn those stacks down to an essential few. Je n’ai pas fait cette lettre-ci plus longue que parce que je n’ai pas eu le loisir de la faire plus courte. This letter is the right length.
